If the MAS is as slow as a snail in 80 mi head wind for you, maybe you wanna try out this little tip from someone that obviously could figure out something Apple is not able to do in the first place.

That brings me to my next point: use this info at your own risk as I can’t tell you if there are any side effects related to this modification. What makes this even worse: it is a global setting …

Check out the new Firmware 04 which can be used with all of the Sony NEX devices available so far. It’s good to see that Sony is still treating all cameras equally and does not support just the new generation models … keep on going

My Secret Stack Project

Just to let you guys know, I am working on a super secret Stack project that nobody has done before and which moves Stacks and RapidWeaver to a new level. I don’t wanna say more right now, but it’s actually something I already did successfully during the time I was using NetObjects Fusion as a web development environment on Windows. Fusion had components similar to RapidWeaver plugins, written in Java.

So far I got the basics up and running and it is kind of funny when you do a orthogonal design right from the start and you realize that adding a small little feature is beneficial to the rest automatically.

I haven’t decided yet when to release this beast as the functionality is still not sufficient for someone to be used. And btw, I could actually benefit from the next Stack version that is currently under development by Yourhead, which adds a lot of features to the HUD.

But there is one thing for sure, this Stack or better those Stacks will be free of charge like any of my other Stacks.

So, can you guess what I am working on?

No, it’s not Coda and it’s not Espresso, not BBEdit or Smultron and of course not Emacs.

After testing those editor over time more or less extensive, it’s TextMate, the most flexible and versatile text editor from Macro Mates.

Two releases on the same day :) Just fixed an issue one of the stack users reported a few minutes ago with MP4 videos not playing correctly due to the fact that the tumblr specific player code was not included. It is now :)

Here is a quick one right before the start of the new week :)

This is a minor bug fix that focuses on the way photo posts are rendered in the blog. So far the tumblr Stack didn’t consider a click-through url if it was present. This release changes this behavior: when there is a link-through url available, clicking on the photo opens the respective url, if not, a larger version of the photo gets displayed.

I wrote on this topic back in November, and I’m pretty damn excited to hear it might be shaping up. The AIR already gets pretty good battery life at five and eight hours for the 11” and 13” models respectively, but the prospect of the system drawing as little as 5 watts (as opposed to 10 or 17 for just the CPU) has the potential to push battery life well past 12 hours.

Now that we’re past the already speculative concept of an A5-powered AIR, let’s go deeper into the rabbit hole. Let’s assume this fanciful product is slated for launch in 18 months. Imagine twelve months from now a new requirement appears before submitting applications to the Mac App Store:

All applications must be submitted with both Intel and ARM compatible binaries.

Suddenly the problem of app volume disappears, and they’re ready on day 1. I say Mac App Store in this case as I do not believe this product would ship with iOS: Apple has been very clear on the idea that the form factor is wrong for touch-screens, and I do not see them moving iOS away from a touch-screen-exclusive interface.
